LEVY TRAN TO LEAD ACTION FEATURE ‘THE SILK ROAD’. SANDU NEGREA TO DIRECT, 55MEDIA TO PRODUCE.

Levy Tran (MaGyver, The Haunting of Hill House, Shameless) has been tapped to lead the International Action Feature, The Silk Road, from Writer/Director Sandu Negrea (Kandi Kids, I Woman). Uche Aguh (The House Invictus, I still do) to produce under his 55Media outfit.

The Silk Road, is a new and explosive cyber punk action feature which explores the intricate inner workings of an underground Black Market Cyper Space where goods and services are clandestinely traded behind a firewall of crime, and shoddy business dealings. The story, which is set in parts of Berlin, Tokyo and Paris follows Haruko(Tran) a foot soldier for the Japanese Yakuza as she journeys from Tokyo to Paris to facilitate the sale of a synthesized narcotic ‘White Rabbit’ which is infused into a beautiful dress to be sold at an upscale Parisian masquerade party, kicking off an interlocked story of love, betrayal and new beginnings. As Haruko travels on this international journey, she is confronted by a series of chaotic and colorful characters- drug lords, mob bosses, and an international police order.

Sandu Negrea who is set to direct the project co-written by him and Ray Sifddol Jr. (Kandi Kids) will also produce under his Switch 22 banner. Levy Tran who is attached to lead ‘The Silkroad’ will star alongside a pool of notable talent including Gina Hiraizumi (Dynasty, Doom Patrol) Tohoru Masamune (Inception, Agents of SHIELD) and Akihiro Kitamura (The Serpent, Tokyo Vampire Hotel).

Casting is now underway for the Project with principal photography slated to begin in 2022.
